Getting ready for camping in Arkansas. So many places to see and visit.
Spring is in the air! Well not today, it is sleeting and snowing and we are under a Winter Storm Warning here in Missouri. But my soul is ready for Spring! The 200 tulip bulbs that my husband planted last fall are coming up. Our weather has been up and down, 71 degrees on one day and 15 the next. But camping season is coming up.
We are going to Arkansas to camp next month and we are so ready for a trip. So, we have been home from camping for 3 months and the camping bug is beginning to bite. We will be returning to Hot Springs for this trip. Last year we went about the same time of the year and went to Gavin Woodland Gardens. I have never seen so many tulips in one place and so many different varieties. If you find yourself near the Gardens you should definitely stop and enjoy the walk.

Just look at all the various colors of tulips. Reds, yellow, orange, white and purples.

Everywhere you look and everywhere you walk all you see is these beautiful tulips.

As you can see the tulips are beautiful.
Before leaving Hot Springs, if you like Mexican food then stop by Salas’s Mexican Grill. Oh my, that is some of the best food that I have ever eat. You can’t go wrong with stopping during lunch time because they have a lunch menu and the prices are great.
Camping Arkansas
We loved our time in Arkansas last year. In fact, we went to other places in northern Arkansas that were just as pretty as Hot Springs. We liked camping on the Norfolk River. We spent 2 weeks there. It was quite and peaceful camping by the river.

Yay they had electric and water hook ups. No dry camping for us. This place on the Norfolk River was amazing. We took many trips through the mountains to just see the scenery.

What a view! There are so many views and so many roads to travel. Each corner that you turn is something new and exciting. There are many little towns with unique shops and restaurants. If you like to do some flea market and antique shopping then this is the place for you. You can find all types of unusual treasures to bring back home. We sure did! From Hot Springs to Little Rock, Mountain Home and Mountain View to Harrison you can find great antique stores. I can’t wait to go back again and see what they have that is old but new to me.

Camping in Arkansas would not be complete without some fresh trout. This beauty was caught just outside our camper door. You can tell by his smile that Bennie is really proud of himself. He had even a bigger smile that night when he had fried trout for supper. Nothing like cooking fresh fish, fries and hushpuppies at your campsite.

Look who is ready to go camping in Arkansas. It is Annabelle our 13 year old poodle. She is saying come on Daddy let’s go. Annabelle is always ready to go somewhere. She likes camping and riding around the country. She and Mia have a bed between our cab seats and they love to sleep and ride. Annabelle is always ready to go for a walk and explore her surroundings. She is pretty agile even at 13 years old.

Here is Mia resting from her walk. This dog does not like to walk as much as Annabelle does. Mia likes to be carried more than walking. She likes the air conditioning and doesn’t like it so hot. She is a Party Yorkie that is white, tan and black. I had her cut off short for camping last year because she gets so hot. She is a little deva for sure.
Stay tuned for an update of our camping adventures.
